Terms of Service

Welcome to ExamCertAI. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use ExamCertAI. These Terms are a legal agreement between you and ExamCertAI.

1. About this platform — separate from the mobile apps

ExamCertAI is a web-based platform accessed at ai.examcert.app. It is a separate product from the ExamCert mobile applications distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Both are published by the same company, but they are sold, billed, and supported as separate products:

  • What you buy here is a recurring monthly or yearly subscription to ExamCertAI, charged to your payment card by our processor Stripe, and managed and cancelled on this website. It is independent of the iOS and Android apps — it does not grant access to, and is not managed through, those apps.
  • What you buy in the mobile apps is an in-app purchase billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and managed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account. Such purchases, and any account created in the ExamCert mobile apps, do not grant access to ExamCertAI and are not managed here. We do not receive, and cannot verify, cancel, or refund, a purchase processed by Apple or Google.
  • Each platform is billed, cancelled, and supported separately. Creating an account or subscribing here has no effect on the mobile apps, and vice-versa. If you hold both, you hold two separate subscriptions and each must be cancelled where it was bought.

2. Eligibility and account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use ExamCertAI.
  • You're responsible for keeping your email address, password, and any linked OAuth accounts (Google / GitHub / Microsoft) secure.
  • One account is for one person. You may sign in from your own phone, laptop, and desktop — that's fine. You may not share your credentials with anyone else or let another person use your account.

3. Account sharing and fraud detection

Sharing a single paid subscription between multiple people is a violation of these Terms. To protect legitimate subscribers and keep pricing fair, ExamCertAI runs an automated fraud-detection system that looks for patterns consistent with account sharing:

  • Multiple distinct IP addresses used by the same account within a short window.
  • Multiple distinct devices (browser / OS combinations) within a short window.
  • Sign-ins or simultaneous usage from geographically impossible locations.
  • Unusual token rotation or rapid re-authentication patterns.

When an account is flagged, a human administrator reviews the evidence before any action is taken. If sharing is confirmed, we may suspend (ban) the account with notice to the email on file. You will have the opportunity to appeal by replying to the suspension email.

4. Data we collect for fraud detection

For each successful sign-in we record:

  • A timestamp.
  • The IP address of the request.
  • A hashed device fingerprint derived from the User-Agent, accepted languages, and platform hint provided by your browser. We do not use canvas, WebGL, or similar covert fingerprinting techniques.
  • A unique token ID (so we can correlate activity and revoke tokens when needed).

Raw IP addresses are retained for 90 days and then truncated to their network prefix. You can download a copy of your personal data at any time from your account settings (Settings → Export my data). The export includes a login-history.csv file with every sign-in we recorded on your account for the last 90 days — timestamp, IP, truncated device fingerprint, country and city (when resolved), and user agent — so you can see exactly what we see.

5. Subscription and billing

  • Paid plans (Lite, On-Demand, Reserved) are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.
  • Promotional pricing ($1 test mode, discount codes, referral credits) is subject to the terms shown at the time of purchase.
  • Downgrade to Sandbox plan removes access to all unlocked exams. When a paid subscription ends (cancellation reaching its scheduled end date, expiry, refund, or admin removal) and the account returns to the Sandbox plan, every previously unlocked exam is revoked. The Sandbox plan only grants access to the first question set of each exam. To regain full access you must subscribe to a paid plan again and re-unlock the exams you want — unlock entitlements are tied to an active paid subscription and are not retained across a Sandbox downgrade.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or bulk-download question content, AI-generated explanations, or study-plan text.
  • Resell ExamCertAI content or access to other parties.
  • Use the AI features to generate content that violates applicable laws.
  • Interfere with the service (denial-of-service, bypassing rate limits, exploiting bugs for unauthorized access).

7. Suspension and appeals

We may suspend any account that violates these Terms. The suspension email explains the specific reason. To appeal, reply to that email within 30 days — we'll review and respond within 3 business days.

If your account is suspended, your personal data is retained in a soft-deleted state for 30 days so the account can be restored if the suspension was in error. After that window your data will be purged in line with our data-retention policy.

8. Termination

You can delete your account any time from Settings → Danger Zone. We will send a confirmation email and retain your data for 30 days before permanent deletion, so you can ask us to restore the account if you change your mind.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when we ship material changes. We'll notify you by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
